The House<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The house consists of five rooms, equipped with a combination of double beds, bunk beds, and single beds (arrangeable according to needs), as well as a larger open shared sleeping space on our second floor. The house can accommodate up to 25 people inside and also offers plenty of additional outdoor space for camping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to our bright dining room, there are two spacious living rooms with many sofas, which can be used as workshop spaces or chill areas. We have a constantly growing library with books and other publications in multiple languages. There is also a fully equipped kitchen (with a refrigerator-freezer, oven, microwave, and dishwasher to minimize water consumption as well as many kitchen utensils and appliances). We have two well-equipped bathrooms, one on each floor, both with hot water showers. We have a beautiful, green, covered terrace with a large dining table, and plenty of space. We also have a big balcony that offers a wide view of the sea, the starsky and our land. Both can be used all year round.<\/p>\n\n\n

In addition, we have another cozy area next to the house: a former garage redesigned as a workshop space, with sofas and plenty of space that can be used to facilitate indoor group activities, cinema screenings, or as a rest area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from our house, we have three cozy caravans that offer a more private and quiet place for visitors to sleep. When available, the largest one can accommodate up to four people, another up to three, and the smallest up to two. We also have a big tent with many mattresses that can accommodate up to five people, and lastly, a clay hut with a double bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a generous amount of land surrounding the house, there is plenty of space that separates us from our few friendly neighbors. This ensures that visiting groups can enjoy both space and privacy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Th<\/strong>e Land<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On the surrounding 18,000 square meters of land, you will find olive, carob, and almond trees. Among the vegetation, there are many possibilities for (shaded or sunny) seating and exercising, whether you are craving shared or alone time. Our land also features multiple benches and tables distributed around the house and in other areas. You will also find a small pine forest (a great location for hanging hammocks and setting up tents) and our small, sustainable garden in development. Please note that it can get quite windy on our property because of our special location close to the sea and the Delta.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Pool<\/strong> and sea<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We have a pond that we use as a pool, in front of the house. It is filled with well water, which is later reused to irrigate the surrounding plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also reach the nearest beach by foot in 20-30 minutes. Along the coast, you will find many different landscapes\u2013 from small, secluded bays and rocky coasts to sandy and pebble beaches. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Noise<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

 Although we have a lot of space, sound travels fairly easily. So out of respect for our neighbours and the surrounding environment, we do not host parties, concerts, or other loud events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the wind circulation it\u2019s possible to hear some of the highway traffic near La Bassa Mar. Moreover, depending on the season, sometimes we can hear shouting sounds. Unfortunately in Catalunya it is not forbidden to hunt animals in different periods of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shopping<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Guests are asked to arrange for their own grocery shopping. There is a supermarket about half an hour by foot (10 minutes by bike), as well as several weekly markets in the surrounding villages with regional vegetables, and an organic vegetable farm with direct sales about 10 km away. You may also arrange for a grocery trip by car with us if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Privacy for specific groups<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you are organizing a gathering for a specific group of people such as sex workers, Black people, transfems or any other particular group in need for a private retreat among yourselves: our space is divided in such a way to guarantee you that. The core-team living on site have their own living space in caravans and the house can be booked exclusively for a group for a period of time (generally about a week).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contact person<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you have any questions, there is always a contact person on site who lives on part of the land. However, the space is divided in such a way that we can accommodate different privacy needs (including for exclusive groups, such as Black-, femme- or sex worker-only). <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Transportation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The train station is about half an hour\u2019s walk away. Barcelona-Sants can be reached in two hours with the regional trains that run regularly throughout the day (every two hours). This also makes a day trip to Barcelona possible. There are connections from Barcelona-Sants to the airport. Tickets can be bought at the station or airport to L\u2019Ampolla-El Perello-Deltebre station for approximately 13\u20ac one-way; most of the time they cannot be bought online but on the train stations themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that the last trains usually leave at around 21:00 from Barcelona-Sants station and 20:00 from L\u2019Ampolla-El Perello-Deltebre station. The earliest trains usually leave at around 6:00 from both L\u2019Ampolla-El Perello-Deltebre and Barcelona-Sants stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are arriving or departing by plane, allow you enough time to get from the airport to Barcelona-Sants, and vice versa. Check the website renfe.com<\/a> or rodalies.gencat.cat<\/a> for exact train connections.<\/p>\n\n\n

Parking<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There is plenty of outdoor parking space, including for large vehicles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Non-Human Companions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you are planning to bring animals, please check first with your group and with us, in general it is very tricky for us to accommodate non-human companions, as we already have two dogs and two cats on-site. Please note that there are no fences around the property and that rabbits, dogs and cats sometimes venture through the outdoor spaces of La Bassa Mar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
